Aspire Zone Foundation (AZF), the leading sport city in the Middle East, announced that it signed an agreement on September 25, 2012, to fully support the Kafu Awareness Campaign activities spearheaded by the Social Development Center (SDC), a member of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development (QF).
The Kafu Awareness Campaign, which was initially launched in 2008, is designed to increase volunteering awareness in Qatar and has already attracted a number of political, social, cultural and sports personalities. The Campaign will feature various activities which will be held in early 2013, including the Volunteer Awards. The program seeks to increase awareness of how voluntary service effectively contributes to developing society. AZF will be an official sponsor at the award ceremony in February, 2013.
The signing brought together distinguished members from both parties, including Hamad Saif Buhindi, Public Relations and Media Manager at AZF, and Fahad A.B. Al-Amri, Administration and Finance Manager at SDC.
Hamad Saif Buhindi commented on the union: “We are absolutely delighted with the partnership. The agreement brings together two local organizations that are passionate and are dedicated to helping the community. We share many of the same goals and values of inspiring the public.”
“We hope that this partnership will also open up new avenues of corporation with like-minded organizations with charitable and social missions,” he added.
Fahad A.B. Al-Amri praised AZF’s role in sponsoring the campaign: “Aspire Zone’s interest in the Kafu Awareness Campaign reflects their commitment to social responsibility. It additionally stresses the vital role SDC plays in collaborating with organizations in Qatar to encourage voluntary work, which will ultimately help motivate young people to achieve their ambitions.”
SDC seeks to serve the community through strengthening the role of family in society, maintaining social stability, and contributing to creating job opportunities and also income-generating opportunities through productive projects. SDC will monitor social trends, as well as various scientific studies, to help find alternative ways in how to raise awareness amongst society and to challenge the variables negatively affecting the values of the community.
Aspire Zone Foundation actively backs a variety of social development initiatives ranging from UN-backed youth leadership camps to installation of free gym equipment for public use to diabetes camps all year round as part of its on-going CSR strategy to encourage healthy and active lifestyles.
