QMA takes part in 4th Annual Managing Local Talent 2012

Qatar Museums Authority Chief Human Capital Officer Ms Sharoq Al Malki participated today in the 4th Annual Managing Local Talent 2012 Conference organized this year from October 1st till October 3rd in the Sharq Village & Spa, Doha – Qatar.

Through presentations, panel discussions, and interactive post event workshops, the conference aims to highlight nationalization which remains an integral part of reforms in the GCC where governments are trying hard to cope-up with their population of unemployed nationals.

Ms Sharoq Al Malki spoke about implementing specific strategies in order to develop talents within the organizations, emphasizing on the role of coaching and mentoring in talent strategies implementation. She presented an overview of talent management and named the key drivers and critical success factors in talent strategies development.

Speaking about the significance of coaching and mentoring as a talent strategy implementation tool, Ms Sharoq Al Malki said: “Coaching is about helping talented people to recognize and release their potential.” She also stressed on the organizations’ need to measure their talent strategies effectiveness listing key performance indicators that help these organizations determine how successful their strategies are.

Ms Al Malki concluded her presentation introducing the attendees to QMA human capital strategic model and giving them examples from within QMA on talent management strategies and recruitment initiatives. She also stated that “talent management is a current plan to create future leaders”.
