Esther Yoo to perform at Katara in celebration of Korean National Day

In celebration of Korean National Day, Katara, the Cultural Village, presents the award winning Violinist, Esther Yoo (pictured). In addition to classical music, Esther Yoo will be performing traditional Korean music with Qatari folk songs at the concert which will take place on Monday 8th October, 7:30pm at the Opera House, Building 16, Katara.

At age 17, Esther Yoo was the youngest prize winner of the 75th Queen Elizabeth Competition and the 10th International Jean Sibelius Violin Competition in 2010. Since making her orchestra debut at age 8, Esther performed with many orchestras including the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Helsinki Philharmonia Orch., Sinfonia Varsovia, Polish Chamber Orch., Korean Chamber Orchestra, North Czech Philh. Orch. and the Seoul Philh. Orch.

This performance contributes to the overall mission to educate and entertain.”

Esther Yoo has also performed at various international festivals such as the Rising Stars Series at the Frankische Music Festival (Alzenau, Germany) with pianist Itamar Golan, the Rising Star Series of Arpeggione Music Festival in Austria with Arpeggione Chamber Orchestra, the Seoul International Music Festival with Maxim Vengerov and the Kamermuziek Houtland Festival in Bruges.
