Amari Doha announces new key appointments

Amari Doha, the first Amari property set to open in the Middle East on November 1, 2012, has announced the appointment of several key positions at the hotel, including Director for Sales and Marketing, Sales Manager, Operations Manager and Executive Sous Chef.

Director for Sales and Marketing

Taking on the role as Director for Sales and Marketing, Rami Arafat Al-Jabari hails from Jordan and has spent most of his career with Marriot International. His extensive experience in GCC markets, particularly in Doha, the UAE, and Saudi Arabia will be a great asset to Amari Doha.

Sales Manager

Working alongside Rami is Nata Kvirkvelia, who joined as Sales Manager. Nata is from Georgia and was previously with the Marriot global sales office. Having spent the last six years in Doha, her experience and knowledge of the hospitality market in Qatar will further strengthen Amari Doha’s sales team.

Operations Manager

Having previously worked with Amari Vogue Krabi in Thailand, Norwegian Torgrim Viken (pictured) has been appointed as Operations Manager, where his overall experience in hotel operations and expertise on Amari quality standards will be a valuable resource to Amari Doha.

Executive Sous Chef

Ali Jaafar from Lebanon is now the Executive Sous Chef of Amari Doha, and has over 10 years of experience working for international hotel chains such as Crowne Plaza, Movenpick, Accor and Hyatt groups in Kuwait. He was with Serena Hotel in Tajikistan before joining Amari Doha.

The opening of Amari Doha will mark the ONYX Hospitality Group’s foray into the Middle East market. Scheduled to open its doors on November 1, 2012, the 120-room hotel is ideally located just 15 minutes from Doha International Airport and boasts a prime position for exploring Doha’s historic and cultural sites. In addition to a selection of dining options, guests seeking the ultimate in relaxation will be able to indulge in body treatments at Breeze Spa which, in addition to fun and easy treatments, will also feature a Jacuzzi and a Vichy shower room.
