In anticipation of a surge in outbound passenger traffic from Doha International Airport (DIA) ahead of the Eid Al Adha holiday period, DIA would like to advise passengers travelling between Wednesday 24th October and Wednesday 31st October to be at the check-in counters at least three hours prior to their scheduled departure time.
In addition, DIA will be particularly busy during the current Hajj season. Doha International Airport will deploy additional resources at the departure lounges to reduce queues to ensure passengers continue to enjoy a pleasant experience at the airport.
Passengers are also encouraged to utilise the web check-in facility provided by most airlines, including Qatar Airways. The web-check in service enables passengers to check-in up to 36 hours prior to their scheduled flight departure time. Check-in can be done at home, office or anywhere through their mobile devices.
New routes and additional flight frequencies are contributing to the appeal of Doha International Airport as a premier hub and convenient gateway for global travellers.
Doha International Airport Chief Executive Officer Akbar Al Baker said “While the airport continues to set new benchmarks in passenger growth, the operational efficiency and comfort and convenience of our passengers remains our highest priority. We would also like to wish the entire community a safe and enjoyable Eid Al Adha holiday period.”
The outlook for the remainder of 2012 is anticipated to be very positive for Doha International Airport. From January to September 2012, passenger figures rose by 13.4 percent at DIA to 15.8 million passengers compared with 13.2 million passengers during the same period in 2011. Aircraft movements were also high at a recorded 115,109, a rise of 11.4 percent compared with 100,032 during the same period in 2011.
