 People are assembling at Corniche in the hundreds to welcome Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani back from his foreign visit.

Corniche is a scene of celebration now with people waving Qatar flag and Tamim Al Majd pictures adorning their t-shirts and vehicles. A large number of Qatari families with children were seen at Corniche to show their solidarity with Emir and Qatar. Standing alongside were expatriates showing their support to Qatar and the leadership. Many were spotted wearing their national costume and waving Qatari flag.

Amid increasing frequency of shipments by sea between Qatar and exporting countries, food prices in the local markets are expected go back to pre-blockade positions by October and November, said Mohamed Althaf, Director of Lulu Group International. 

In an exclusive interview with The Peninsula Althaf said: “We have been working to bring back the prices at pre-siege level. This is our commitment to the customers and we are very close to our target.”

Nakilat organised a ‘Make-A-Wish’ initiative in collaboration with Hamad General Hospital (HGH) in Doha, granting wishes to several children battling long-term cancer. ‘Make-A-Wish’ is a concept adopted worldwide to infuse hope, strength and joy in children diagnosed with life-threatening medical conditions. It was an emotional affair as Nakilat representatives presented gifts to the children at the hospital.
