The Ministry of Economy and Industry issued Thursday a list comprising of more than 500 commodities that will be sold at reduced prices on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan.

The initiative is done in coordination with major supermarkets and will start from today until the end of Ramadan. This comes in line with the Ministry's commitments that to initiatives that help provide the needs of citizens and residents of consumer goods at reduced prices during this holy month, where spending on these items typically increases.

The first-ever Qatar ‘Workers Fun Run’ will take place in Doha tomorrow at Aspire Park starting at 8am. 

Organised by the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs, the International Labour Organisation and the Embassy of the Kingdom of The Netherlands, the 5km run brings together migrant workers from many sectors in a fun and unique event that promotes togetherness and good health.

Coinciding with the celebration of International Workers’ Day which will be held under the patronage of the Minister of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs HE Yousef bin  Mohammed  Al Othman Fakhro, a book titled ‘Qatar’s Contributions to Protect Rights of Workers’ will be launched on May 1.

The book is considered an important documentation for the development of legislation and the great efforts exerted by Qatar to provide the best work environment to workers.

Under the slogan “Reading is Life” Qatar University (QU) in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture and Sports organize week-long activities to commemorate the sixth edition of World Book Day, including the Annual Book Fair hosted at the QU Library.
