Ninety-four (94) students from Qatar University College of Pharmacy (QU-CPH), Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar (WCM-Q), College of the North Atlantic-Qatar (CNA-Q) and University of Calgary in Qatar (UCQ) participated in a workshop on “Introduction to Interprofessional Education (IPE)”. The workshop, which was organized by IPE Committee and hosted at WCM-Q, aimed to foster collaboration among various health care professions.

Construction of a new building at Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) will see a significant expansion of trauma and emergency services in Qatar. The trauma and emergency facility, scheduled to open in 2019, will more than quadruple the existing department's space, providing greater capacity to care for patients presenting with a range of illnesses and injuries, with a focus on life-threatening medical conditions.

The Organ Transplant Team at Hamad Medical Corporation’s (HMC) Hamad General Hospital has successfully performed Qatar’s first ever liver transplant from a living donor. The latest transplant, which took place in November, makes a total of 17 liver transplants from living donors performed since the commencement of the transplant program at HMC. Each year, between 20 and 25 patients are added to the waiting list for organ transplantation in Qatar.

Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB) Chairman, Sheikh Jassim Bin Hamad Bin Jassim Bin Jaber AI Thani announced that QIB has achieved net profit of QAR 2,155 Million for the fiscal year 2016 compared to QAR 1,954 Million for the year 2015, thus marking an increase by 10.3% over last year.

Al Khalij Commercial Bank(al khaliji) P.Q.S.C, in Qatar, released its consolidated financial statements for the year ended 31 December 2016 today with a Net Profit of QAR 427 million for 2016. The consolidated financial statements for the year ending 31 December 2016 were approved by the Board of Directors of al khaliji during its meeting held in Doha on 18 January 2017.

The figures are subject to Qatar Central Bank’s approval and AGA endorsement.
