Qatar Airways has announced it will launch flights to beautiful Chiang Mai, its fourth destination in Thailand, as it expands to meet increased demand for Thai destinations from holiday-makers. The new route comes in addition to existing services to the Thai capital Bangkok, and to the top holiday destinations of Phuket and Krabi. The new four-times weekly seasonal service will operate between Doha and Chiang Mai (CNX), using a wide-body aircraft, from December 2017 until May 2018.

Milaha, a Qatar-based maritime and logistics conglomerate, has launched the first ever direct feeder service between Qatar and Kuwait. The new service, named KQX (Kuwait Qatar Express Service), will operate between Hamad Port in Qatar and Shuwaikh Port in Kuwait once a week initially, using a 515 TEU vessel.

A Qatar Airways captain helped International Youth Day take off at Doha’s KidzMondo – located in the Mall of Qatar – with the aid of two would-be pilots. International Youth Day 2017 is dedicated to celebrating young people’s contributions to conflict prevention and transformation as well as inclusion, social justice, and sustainable peace. The annual event was initiated by the United Nations General Assembly in 1999, when announced that 12 August should be International Youth Day.

The Public Works Authority will implement a two-day closure on one direction of Ali bin Abi Talib Street in the direction from D-Ring Road to C-Ring Road, while keeping the opposite side of the road open to traffic. The closure, implemented in coordination with the General Directorate of Traffic, starts at 12:00 midnight on Friday 18 August and lasts until 5:00 am on Sunday 20 August 2017, to enable laying the Asphalt wearing course.
