Fidget spinners have been regarded as among the “must have toys of 2017” but many people, including some experts, remain divided over whether they are beneficial or harmful, especially to children. A fidget spinner is made of either plastic or metal and has a ball bearing in the middle, allowing the toy to spin when held between the thumb and middle finger. Aside from the ball bearing, a typical fidget spinner usually contains two or more weights (or additional ball bearings) on the sides although the design and material may vary.

Baladna Farm has released images, as well as a video, of the latest shipment of cows being transported to Doha from Germany by a Qatar Airways Cargo aircraft.

This, along with earlier shipments of Holstein cows, is a part of a 4,000-head herd that is expected to give a huge boost to dairy production in Qatar. Last month, Qatar Airways Cargo had announced that it transported the country’s first two shipments of 330 Holstein cows from Europe on a Boeing 777 freighter.

The Aquatic Center at Qatar University (QU) Sports Activities Department launched an underwater version of the iconic Tamim Al Majd (Glorious Tamim) billboard. The new billboard was established in the swimming pool at QU Male Water Sports Complex, in collaboration with QU Diving Club, Aspire Academy, Civil Defence, Coast and Borders Security Department, Elite Dive Academy, Freediving Association, Hamad Aquatic Centre, Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya), and Poseidon Dive Center.

The Ministry of Public Health yesterday announced that local markets are free from eggs produced in one of the European countries, which has been notified worldwide of possible contamination with pesticide residues. The Ministry also said it is closely following the news.

Director of the Municipal and Environmental Studies Center Dr Mohammed bin Saif al Kuwari recently inaugurated Mushaireb Hall for Computer at the centre in Al Udeid Tower in the presence of Director of Information Systems Department Hamda al Maadeed. The opening of the computer hall is part of the policy of the Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME) to boost the capacity of its employees in the use of computer.
