Qatar National Library (QNL) and the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to exchange a range of learning resources and services.

The agreement promotes collaboration between the two organizations in a number of fields, including training programs for researchers and staff, and various awareness programs. It also enables QNL and Lekhwiya to join forces on inter-library loan and document delivery services, and to exchange expertise on library technologies and electronic resources.

Coxsackievirus, and the related hand, foot, and mouth disease, is a major cause of illness in infants and young children, with incidents of the condition spiking during the summer months. Between January and June of this year, over 1,900 children were diagnosed with hand, foot, and mouth disease at Hamad Medical Corporation’s (HMC) Pediatric Emergency Centers.

Qatar Museums (QM) has announced the discovery of a formerly unknown petroglyph site in the center of the Qatari Peninsula. The newly discovered site is spread across an area of around 15 hectares, making it the second largest rock carving site in the country after Al Jassasiya. This is the first time that a site of this kind is discovered away from Qatar’s coasts, thus completely transforming the current archeological map of the country.
