Qatar Airways is seeking strict guarantees as it talks to CFM International about supplying engines for a revamped order for Airbus narrow-body jets, which it expects to finalise "soon", its chief executive said on Thursday. The Gulf airline has cancelled four A320neo jets powered by alternative Pratt & Whitney engines and expects to swap the overall aircraft order, which was originally for 50 jets, to larger A321neo aircraft.

The Cabinet approved the executive regulation of the residency law, at its weekly meeting held at the Emiri Diwan before yesterday. The meeting, chaired by Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani, approved a draft decision of the Minister of Interior to issue the executive regulation of the law No. (21) of 2015 regulating the entry and exit of expatriates and their stay.

Crystal Lagoons, the patented technology developer of giant crystalline lagoons, has announced it has held a series of meetings with prominent Qatari real estate developers as the country looks to capitalise on a growth in tourism numbers and revenues.

Designed to be self-cleaning, the lagoons only require topping up in response to evaporation and use up to 100 times less chemicals than traditional pool systems, and only two percent of the energy required by conventional filtering technologies.
