Hamad International Airport (HIA), Qatar’s Five Star Airport has announced strong year-on-year growth in passenger numbers and cargo handling from January to June of 2017, making it its busiest six month period yet. The airport served 19 million passengers from January to June 2017, 8 per cent more than those served in the same period in the previous year. This includes departing, arriving and transfer passengers traveling through the airport.

Sidra Medical and Research Center (Sidra) piloted a virtual training program for healthcare professionals as part of its commitment to support a nationally integrated clinical network. The program was developed in partnership with the Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) to advance medical education opportunities as well as collaborative efforts between different healthcare providers.

Aamal Trading and Distribution –a subsidiary of Aamal Company QPSC and the sole distributor of Bridgestone tyres in Qatar– has recently launched its new mobile service “Dial- a-Tyre” through its “First Stop” van. “Dial-a-Tyre” service is brought to the Qatari market in cooperation with Bridgestone, and will cover areas outside of Doha; such as Wakra, Dukhan, Al Khor, Lusail, and other cities.

The third edition of Vodafone’s fundraising challenge #GivingChallenge has raised a total of QR 364,810, as a result of 36,481 votes. The challenge which was launched on the first day of Ramadan saw 3 Qatari social media influencers use their social media channels to raise funds for their chosen charity.

Aqeel Al-Janahi, Ahmed Abdallah and Ahmed Khalil used their social media channels to encourage their followers to vote for their chosen charities via Vodafone’s website and for each vote, Vodafone donated QR10 to each charity.

Education Above All (EAA) foundation, through its programme Reach Out To Asia (ROTA) in collaboration with the Social Development Center (SDC), have recently carried out renovation works at a house in Al Wakra as part of its ‘Reach into Qatar’ campaign. Both national and non-national volunteers took part in the community development initiative, which extends social development assistance to families in need across the country.

All inpatient and emergency services across Hamad Medical Corporation’s (HMC) network of hospitals will continue to operate as usual, 24 hours a day, throughout the Eid Al Fitr holidays. All outpatient department (OPD) clinics will be closed from Sunday, 25 June to Tuesday, 27 June, unless stated below.

Hamad General Hospital:

Walk-in and medication refill clinics will operate on 28 and 29 June.
