The Emergency Department, Paediatric Emergency Centres and Ambulance Service at Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC), recorded the routine number of cases on the first day of Eid al-Fitr. About 1,600 emergency cases were reported at all the four paediatric emergency centres around the country. Al Sadd recorded about 1,000 cases, Al Rayan centre had a total of 322 cases, Airport centre received more than 200 and Al Daayen about 85 cases.

Qatar’s Ministry of Interior (MOI) in partnership with Qatar National Tourism Council (QNTC) has launched an online authorization system via http://www.qatarvisaservices.com for all those wishing to travel to the country as part of the Summer in Qatar program, which runs from 4 June to 16 August 2019.

People wishing to visit Qatar during this period can obtain visas upon arrival after applying through the online portal.

World governing body FIFA gave the hosting rights of the annually-staged Club World Cup to Qatar for the next two years. 

Hosts of the 2022 FIFA World Cup, Qatar will now look forward to hosting UEFA champions Liverpool and six other continental champions for the two-week football festival later this year in December. According to details posted on FIFA’s website yesterday, Qatar will also host the 2020 edition of the hugely popular tournament held for the first time in 2000.
