The preliminary rounds of Qatar ExxonMobil Open will begin at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex in Doha on Saturday, with main rounds starting on Monday, January 6, 2020. Three-time Grand Slam champion Stan Wawrinka of Switzerland and 2012 champion Jo-Wilfried Tsonga of France are among the top stars set to open their season in Doha.

Mr. Nasser Saed Al Nuaimi, Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC)’s Deputy Chief of Quality and Director of the HMC Healthcare Quality Institute, has disclosed that receiving requests for issuing HMC medical reports via the HMC website will start soon. Al Naimi explained that this will happen without the need for patients to go to Hamad General Hospital to submit the request in person or to send someone on thier behalf to do so.

The drinking water quality of Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (Kahramaa) has exceeded the index of International Standards for Drinking-Water of World Health Organisation (WHO).

Kahramaa’s Water Quality Laboratory tested water samples from 14,000 points across the country in 2019. Kahramaa’s Laboratory successfully renewed its ISO 17025:2005 quality certificate, after passing the assessment required carried out by the Accreditation Council of American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA).

Total deposits and credit grew 0.6 percent and 2.3 percent respectively in November, compared to October 2019, according the 71th issue of Qatar Monthly Statistics bulletin, released yesterday by The Planning and Statistics Authority.

The year-on-year growth in deposits and credit was 4.6 percent and 9.1 percent respectively in November 2019, compared to November 2018. The demographic statistics showed that the total population of Qatar has increased from 2.76 million during November 2018 to 2.77 million at end of November 2019.

The Cabinet, in its meeting, approved a proposal to amend some provisions of the Labour Law and the Law regulating entry and exit of expatriates and their residence, in accordance with the recommendations of the working group formed to study that proposal. The Cabinet also approved a draft law on endowment.
