Visitors from all age groups engaged in a myriad of National Sport Day activities as part of the award-winning Koora Time programme, which was organised by Qatar Shell and Qatar Football Association.

The event opened with the Amir Cup trophy on display, and the opportunity to meet with Qatar National Team player Bassam Al Rawi. Members of the public also had the opportunity to enjoy training sessions, football matches, and fitness classes that promote the many benefits of adopting a healthy lifestyle.

Qatar University (QU) joined the nation as it celebrated Qatar National Sports Day yesterday, by offering a full day of activities for the local community. This year the university collaborated with Qatar Charity and the Planning and Statistics Authority to offer a range of services and activities dealing with health, wellness and sports.

Qatar and the UK are working together on a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) concerning the World Cup 2022, which will provide a structure for the UK to support Qatar across all the areas, including security, defence and business cooperation, outgoing British Ambassador to Qatar HE Ajay Sharma said on Sunday.

Addressing a press conference, Sharma said the MoU will provide a framework for the UK’s public and private sectors to help Qatar in the delivery of a safe and successful World Cup.

As part of its aim to integrate science and practice, Qatar University’s (QU) College of Pharmacy (CPH) organized a visit for its pharmacy students to visit Qatar Pharma, the first pharmaceutical manufacturer in Qatar. The visit also comes as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen ties between industry and academia.

The visit to Qatar Pharma was organized within the scope of the Pharmaceutics course, which is a science-led subject for the application of scientific knowledge to design medicines that improve the quality of people's lives.
