The State of Qatar participated in the 58th meeting of the Committee for Trade Cooperation, the 46th meeting of the Committee for Industrial Cooperation and the first meeting of the GCC Ministerial Committee for Standardisation Affairs, held in Muscat, Oman, with a delegation headed by H E Minister of Commerce and Industry, Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari.

A research team from the Department of Electrical Engineering at Qatar University (QU) developed an advanced reconfigurable multiphase motor drive system for electric vehicle (EV) applications. The project objective is to achieve extended speed and torque control region with gearless EV drive. The project is funded by a high impact research grant and led by an electrical engineering professor at QU, Professor Atif Iqbal.

To facilitate completion of construction works on the pedestrian underpass that aims to provide safe pedestrian crossings, the Public Works Authority ‘Ashghal’ announces a temporary traffic shift onto parallel lanes on Al Corniche Street between Al Sheraton Intersection and Qatar National Theatre Intersection. In coordination with the General Directorate of Traffic, this change will be implemented starting Saturday 16 November 2019 for a period of six months.
