Digital currencies and their risks were in the spotlight at a Qatar University (QU) Roundtable forum recently hosted by the Centre for Law and Development.

The event was attended by both local and international experts and examined the benefits and potential risks associated with the use of digital currencies. Representatives from the Qatar Central Bank (QCB), Qatar Financial Centre Regulatory Authority (QFCRA), Qatar University and Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) examined and discussed policy and regulatory options open to Qatar.

Qatar Airways is pleased to announce services to Osaka, Japan starting from 6 April 2020. The second largest metropolitan area of Japan, Osaka will be the airline’s third gateway into the country. Qatar Airways began direct services to Tokyo Narita in 2010 and launched its Tokyo Haneda service in 2014 from Doha’s Hamad International Airport (HIA).

An inspiration for many Qatari youths, a banking executive leader and high-altitude climber Fahad Badar is on a mission to summit the highest mountain on each of the world’s seven continents.

Fahad is pleased to announce one of the ultimate adventures on earth to Antarctica to ski the last degree expedition and climb Mount Vinson. This incredible crossing involves skiing in intervals for 110km across the South Pole, using sleds to haul provisions and to scale one of the coldest mountains on earth, Mount Vinson the highest peak in Antarctica.
