Al Khalij Commercial Bank (al khaliji) Q.S.C. released its half year results today, showing a strong increase in net profit, which reached QR 249 million on 30 June 2011, up 122 percent from QR 112 million on 30 June 2010. The Q2 net profit reached 130 million, up 141 percent compared to Q2 of 2010.

People here will use electricity produced from domestic waste with Qatar’s first integrated waste management centre becoming operational by the year-end. Qatar Red Crescent has announced the implementation of a water project in Somalia where people are suffering from drought for 15 months due to poor rainfall, which is the main source of water in the country. The project included the rehabilitation of 3 giant artesian wells in 3 provinces in central and southern Somalia with a total cost of QR 400 thousand.
