Vodafone Qatar’s profitability at EBITDA has improved significantly this quarter to reach QR 31 million. This strong profitability underpins Vodafone Qatar’s expectation to declare a dividend in March 2013.

Qatar University student Sara al Kuwari outshone others with her innovative presentation and research in the recently concluded sixth edition of the ‘Dubai Summer Surprises (DSS) Apprenticeship Programme’. Eleven students took part in the closing ceremony of the two-week event organised by the Dubai Events and Promotions Establishment (DEPE), an agency of the Department of Economic Development (DED).

The Qatar Football Association (QFA) has signed a two-year sponsorship agreement with Al-Jaber Holding Group , naming the latter as the official  sponsor of the upcoming GCC Olympic Teams Championship to be hosted by Doha for the two consecutive years.

Mr. Saoud Al-Mohannadi, the QFA Secretary General signed on behalf of the Association, alongside Mr. Jaber Sultan Al-Jaber, the CEO of Al-Jaber Holding Group.

In a true Olympic spirit of never giving up, sports-hub of the Arab world, Doha is expected to bid for the Summer Games again, a top Asian official said yesterday. Doha, which lost the 2016 Olympic Games bid three years ago, has a little over a month’s time to submit its bid file for the 2020 Games. The deadline for submitting the bids is September 1. The IOC will decide in Buenos Aires on September 7, 2013, which city is to host the 2020 Summer Games.
