The Virginia Commonwealth University in Qatar, in partnership with the Ministry of Labour and Qatar Foundation invites the public to the opening of its biennial design conference Tasmeem Doha 2011 on Monday, 21 March. Tasmeem Doha 2011 – ‘Synapse: Designer as Link’ is open to the public and will take place at VCUQatar from 21 to 24 March, 2011.  For the Monday night opening ceremony seating is on a first come first seated basis and it is recommended that audience be seated by 5:30 PM.

HE Vice President, Education, Qatar Foundation, Dr Sheikh Abdulla bin Ali Al-Thani has been named a 2011 Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum (WEF). He is one of 13 individuals chosen from the Middle East and North Africa region, with a total of 190 selected worldwide from a pool of almost 5,000 nominations. He is the only person chosen from Qatar.
