Dr. Nigel Pereira, an alumnus of Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar (WCM-Q) has been included on the ‘Super Doctors’ list of elite-level physicians practicing in the United States.

Dr. Pereira, who graduated from WCM-Q in 2010 and now practices in New York City as an Assistant Professor of Reproductive Medicine and Obstetrics and Gynecology, was also named as one of New York’s Rising Stars for 2019 by the Super Doctors organization.

The Department of Chemistry and Earth Sciences at Qatar University’s (QU) College of Arts and Science organized two capstone project presentation events for female and male students, as well as a ceremony to award students who participated in community services and social activities. The students showcased their projects in front of project supervisors, members of the evaluation committees and department head Dr. Khalid Al-Saad.

The Qatar International Court and Dispute Resolution Centre (QICDRC), Qatar’s world-class specialised civil and commercial court, and the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID), the world’s leading institution devoted to international investment dispute settlement, today signed a Cooperation Agreement in Doha, Qatar. ICSID is one of the five organizations of the World Bank Group.

The World Innovation Summit for Health (WISH), an initiative of Qatar Foundation (QF), has partnered with the global Nursing Now Campaign and the International Council of Nurses to train young nursing leaders from around the world to amplify their voices and positively influence healthcare policy, ahead of attending the annual World Health Assembly.

The World Health Assembly is an annual meeting of health ministers held at the United Nations Office at Geneva, organized by the World Health Organization (WHO).

Doha College, a leading school in environmental awareness work, has recently marked World Environment Day with a multitude of eco-themed activities. Apart from wearing green for the day, students adopted a positive mindset to think about everything in an environmentally-friendly way, from reducing electricity consumption in their classrooms and common spaces, to using renewable resources. Lessons also focused on the impact of human activities on the environment.

Qatar Environment and Energy Research Institute (QEERI), part of Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU), and the International Center for Materials Nanoarchitectonics (MANA) at the National Institute for Materials Science (NIMS), Japan, recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen and promote scientific cooperation and research collaboration between the two institutions.
