To highlight the increasing relevance of businesswomen on effecting change and a more empowered role in a highly globalised economy, organisers have announced the staging of the 5th edition of the Qatar International Businesswomen Forum in December. Organised by the Qatari Businesswomen Association in collaboration with Interactive Business Network, the annual businesswomen’s event will be conducted under the theme ‘Business Women and the New Age of Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Social Responsibility’ and will take place on 8 and 9 December 2014 at the St. Regis Doha Hotel in Qatar.

Taking off from last year’s highly successful edition, this year’s event promises to be another extremely productive and highly informative forum. It also presents huge opportunities for exchanges of information, sharing of knowledge and networking among participants due to the huge number and high quality of speakers and attendees from all over the world. “Our role in society has been steadily increasing in significance,” said Aisha Alfardan, Vice Chairwoman of the Qatari Businesswomen Association. “We have risen from the ranks to occupy sensitive and senior managerial posts as well as drive our own businesses to greater heights.

Thus, as we continuously gather and discuss our expanding role in society and find ways by which to tackle the issues and challenges that lie ahead, I am confident that women and businesswomen will surely be able to effect even greater change through this new age of innovation, entrepreneurship and social responsibility.”

For his part, Mr Raed Chehaib, Chief Executive Officer of Interactive Business Network commented: “The modern woman’s influence on practically all aspects of society can and should no longer be ignored. Their contributions have been extremely positive and significant. With their rapidly increasing roles in creating and shaping policy or mapping out growth paths for businesses, it is imperative for women business leaders to have a platform wherein they can share knowledge, expertise and experiences and discuss ways by which they can effectively work together and effect further change for the betterment of our future societies.

“Recognising such a need, we at Interactive Business Network are thankful for this opportunity to work hand in hand with such a prestigious organization as the Qatari Businesswomen Association and establish this Forum,” Mr. Chehaib continued. “We are truly honored to be able to play a major role in promoting investment opportunities and business activities for our present crop of women business leaders and achievers.

“This Forum is very much in line with our objective of building channels of communication and interaction that support and promote business and investment activity. Therefore, as we look forward to playing a proactive role in the growth and development of economic and business activity among women business leaders, we shall continue to deliver an effective and meaningful tool for women in the region and elsewhere to come together and further influence and implement change,” Mr. Chehaib added.
