The Permanent Committee for Abu Samra Border Post has set up 20 counters to handle the rush of tourists visiting Qatar via road to watch the on-going AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2011 finals, the Ministry of Interior said in a media statement.

The Committee has put up eight counters to facilitate entry and exit of tourist vehicles; four counters for customs and eight counters for handle procedures for mass transport buses. Secretary of the Permanent Committee Lt Col Mohammed Rashid Al Mazrooi said the panel made the necessary arrangements to provide the services efficiently to football fans arriving in Qatar to watch the matches. Some stations have been allotted for passengers of mass transport vehicles to complete the procedures, he added. The facade of the Border Post are decorated with AFC Asian Cup colours and logo in co-ordination with the Qatar Local Organising Committee for the continental championship.

Tournament ticket sales office which works 24 hours is set up for fans, the statement said.
