Al Khalij Commercial Bank (al khaliji) Q.S.C., Qatar’s next generation bank, participated in a special Breast Cancer awareness campaign in line with the Bank’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategy.
In early October, the Bank launched "al khaliji Wears PINK" initiative internally and collaborated with Qatar Cancer Society to conduct an interactive session on Breast Cancer Awareness and prevention for female employees. While most women are aware of breast cancer, many forget to take the right steps to detect the disease in its early stages and encourage others to do the same. al khaliji's support to Breast Cancer Awareness Month, came to alert women on the risk reduction and early detection.
The World Health Organisation (WHO) reported Qatar has been diagnosing yearly up to 140 Breast Cancer cases among women since 2010. However, the disease remains a social stigma for some segments of the society in Doha. al khaliji’s approach, receiving a good response from its employees, is designed to multiply positive impact on the Qatari community. For al khaliji, Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives are aligned to Qatar National Vision and aim to enhance interaction with the community and to encourage awareness through activities linked to health, education, environment, and sports.
