Al Khalij Commercial Bank (al khaliji) has donated QR300,000 to the Sheikh Thani bin Abdullah Al-Thani's Foundation for Humanitarian Services (RAF) to help people suffering not only from poverty and devastation and lack of resources, but also communities facing scientific and knowledge  challenges such as illiteracy.

al khaliji Chairman and Managing Director Sheikh Hamad Bin Faisal Bin Thani Al Thani presented the cheque to the chairman, board of trustees and General Manager of RAF, Mr. Ayed Al-Kahtani at a ceremony held at the Bank’s headquarters in Doha.

Sheikh Hamad Bin Faisal Bin Thani Al Thani said: "al khaliji is aiming at cooperation and partnership with Qatari institutions to execute charitable projects in line with our commitment to the community. We are very supportive of RAF’s role inside and outside Qatar and have made this donation to support their efforts in developing and educating local communities. This donation is also intended to support their relief and aid projects to areas of natural disaster in places such as Pakistan

Mr. Ayed Al-Kahtani thanked al khaliji for this contribution and commended the selection of RAF, as this is an evidence of the level of collaboration between financial institutions and institutions of civil society to meet the interests of communities and human beings. He assured that RAF will allocate a part of the bank’s donation to support humanitarian and social activities and functions to be executed in Qatar this year, while the other part of the donation will be allocated to help Pakistani people suffering from the flood disaster.

al khaliji’s QR300,000 RAF donation reflects the bank’s commitment to the community following its sponsorship of the 3rd International Breast Cancer Conference in October of 2010.
