To mark this year’s Earth Hour, Al Mana Malls participated with their own “Lights Off” event between 8.30pm and 9.30pm as part of the international event organised by conservation charity WWF to urge action to save the planet.

More than 7,000 cities in more than 170 countries and millions of people took part this year, to send a message to leaders that protecting the Earth should be top of their agenda, according to the WWF. Rony Mourani, General Manager of Al Mana Malls, stated “Mirqab Mall has been participating in Earth Hour since 2018. In going dark – including switching off our landmarks such as the façade lights, Dome and Fountain areas – we feel that we are contributing to a simple, and yet powerful campaign that will inspire others that Earth Hour must be celebrated every single day. Let’s pledge to use resources more prudently and let us pledge to save our environment.”
