The Public Works Authority announced that it will put in place a temporary diversion on part of the southbound lanes of the East Industrial Road, for a distance of 2.7 km from Street 23 (near Al Watan Petrol Station) to Street 10 (near Woqod Petrol Station). The diversion will be implemented as of Friday 29 July 2016 and will last until the end of September 2016, in coordination with the Traffic Police Department.

During this period, traffic on the closed section of the East Industrial Road will be diverted to the adjacent service roads, where the number of lanes will be reduced from four to two lanes of traffic, as shown in the attached map. The speed limit will be reduced to 50 kph along the diversion route to ensure the safety of road users and the project’s workforce. Ashghal will install road signs advising motorists of the diversion. The authority requests all road users to abide by the speed limits, and follow the road signs to ensure their safety.
