To mark Qatar National Day, students and employees from Aspire Academy hosted a celebration ceremony on December 16, which featured the Qatar national anthem,student recitals from the Qur’an and the cutting of a national day cake.

A number of speeches were given from Academy representatives who discussed the importance of Qatar National Day and its role in instilling national pride. The speeches paid tribute to Qatar’s founder Sheikh Jassim bin Mohamed Al Thani and congratulated both HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad AlThani, and HH the Father Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, on behalf of all the students and staff of the Aspire Academy. The ceremony was attended by Academy officials including Mr. Ivan Bravo, Director General of Aspire Academy, in addition to the Academy’s directors, and a number of Aspire Zone Foundation staff. The event was also attended by the Academy’s student-athletes, who recited poetry and presented performance pieces to celebrate the occasion.

Reflecting the spirit of the occasion, the Student Care department also organised a number of shows and presentations to mark the day including food stands with authentic Qatari cuisine, traditional music, falconry stands, henna for women, and a classic car presentation. To conclude, a range of gifts was given away to employees and students representing Qatar, the Qatari flag and other national memorabilia. Students from the Qatar Leadership Academy, member of Qatar Foundation, also participated in the event’s various activities, and performed a military routine.

In addition, Aspire Park will also host a number of events and performances to mark the occasion of Qatar National Day, which is expected to see community participation in an atmosphere of joy and happiness. The Academy wishes everyone in Qatar a happy and blessed National Day.
