Aspire Academy welcomed two acclaimed coaches from the Federation of International Gymnastics (FIG) for a tour of its facilities yesterday. Takashi Kobayashi, Director of the Japanese Olympic Committee and Peggy Liddick, Head Coach of the Australian women’s gymnastics team were accompanied on their tour by Mr. Ferras Ahmed from the Qatar Gymnastics Federation (QGF).

The coaches are in Doha to participate in a number of workshops organised by the QGF. Together they were given a tour of the Academy and briefed about the services and programmes provided to local athletes. Commenting on the visit, Coach Liddick said: “Aspire Academy has become a leading sports institution that inspires others to follow in its footsteps. Young athletes in Qatar are very fortunate to have access to such world-class facilities.” Meanwhile, Takashi Kobayashi added: “Aspire Academy’s state-of-the-art facilities are perfect for hosting international tournaments. Aspire Academy’s mission to develop talented young athletes is crucial and the commitment and focus on achieving this aim is remarkable.”
