The Aspire Embassies Futsal Tournament 2018 will conclude its activities on Friday, 11th May, after teams representing Jordan and Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) have successfully booked their seats for this week’s final match, due to be held at 8:00 PM in the Ladies Sports Hall in Aspire Zone, when first and second-place winners will be decided.

Both teams secured their spot in the final after Qatar’s MOFA team beat Aspire Zone 11-6 at the quarter-finals last week, going on to defeat Sudan 6-4 in the semi-finals. Meanwhile, their opponents, Jordan, advanced after overcoming a tough match against Kenya in the quarter-finals which ended in a score of 9-8, and beating Syria’s team in the semi-finals 6-0.

Teams representing Syria and Sudan, who lost during the semi-finals will also play against each other, where one of them will get a chance to win third place. The game is due to be played on the same day prior to the final, at 6:30 PM in the Ladies Sports Hall. The tournament is in line with AZF’s efforts to promote a healthy and active lifestyle for people of all ages. Football fans are welcome to attend the tournament and cheer on their favourite teams. This year, the tournament featured 16 teams representing: Algeria, Djibouti, Ethiopia, France, India, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Somalia, South Africa, Spain, Sudan, Syria.
