Under the patronage of H.E. Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani, President of the Qatar Olympic Committee, Aspire Zone Foundation and Aspire Academy will this week bring together the world’s leading football and performance optimisation specialists with world-renowned managers, players and sports sector organisations for one of the largest and most significant events in the sports industry calendar.

Taking place from October 5 – 6 in Berlin, the Aspire Academy Global Summit will be attended by some of Qatar’s most prominent sporting and football figures. These include H.E. Mr Salah bin Ghanem bin Nasser Al Ali , Minister of Youth and Sports and Hassan Al Thawadi, Secretary General of the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy. In addition, some of the biggest names in football including Johan Cruyff, Thomas Tuchel, Frank Rijkaard, and Clarence Seedorf will join coaching experts from 50 of the world’s leading clubs, federations and leagues to address the issue of nurturing sporting talent and developing future champions.

The event brings together 150 representatives from clubs including FC Barcelona, Real Madrid, Manchester United, AC Milan, Juventus and Turin with pre-eminent sports scientists to review the latest thinking and trends in football performance. Over the two days, participants will share and examine the training methods and approaches they adopt to nurture footballing talent, realise championship potential and support young players in achieving sporting success.

Founded in 2004 by the Father Emir, H.H. Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Aspire Academy trains Qatari students in a state-of-the-art setting, enabling them to fulfil their sporting and educational potential. Aspire Academy is recognised around the world as one of the best centres for scouting and training young athletes.  Germany’s most successful Club, Bayern Munich, is one of many to hold training camps at the Academy.

Commenting on his experience of both as a manager and player, footballing legend Johan Cruyff said:  “Youth development underpins the success of clubs and federations around the world and we all have a responsibility to share best practice, develop talent and help move the global game forward. The Summit is the ideal platform for that and it is very exciting to be involved in this event.”

The exhibition & congress also includes a business-to-business exhibition designed to create a wide range of networking opportunities for European and Qatari sport industry professionals. A large number of Qatari and Middle Eastern government organisations and companies will attend the event to meet representatives from across Europe’s leading sports business sectors including construction, sports medicine, logistics, event management, communication and technology.
