The Bedaya Center for Entrepreneurship and Career Development (Bedaya Center), a joint initiative by Qatar Development Bank and Silatech, today launched the week- long “Career Awareness Week” that will run till 2 December 2016 . The event is being held in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education at The Amphitheater - La Croisette (30) Porto Arabia -The Pearl Qatar.

On this occasion, Faisal Al Emadi, Bedaya’s Vice Chairman said:” We are dedicated to achieving the goals sets forward in Qatar National Vision 2030, and for this we are striving to make a significant contribution to the development of the human capital Qatar needs to support the country's vision and future as pursued by the state under the wise leadership of His Highness The Emir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.”

For her part, Reem Al-Sowaidi, General Manager of Bedaya Center said: “The main idea of creating Bedaya Centre for Entrepreneurship and Career Development was to enable and empower young people to have access to the right guidance, proper training and effective support in order to succeed in work and make a positive contribution to our society.”

These distinguished guests will share with us throughout the career awareness week about their success stories that was Interspersed by many challenges and successes” she added.

The career awareness week aims to shed the light on the possibility of creating a generation of young people capable of investing in their abilities and talents to effectively serve the community through attending workshops and training sessions attended by top names in diverse sectors in the country. The event strives to raise awareness among parents, students, counselors, advisors and employees about career development. The career forum provides a perfect platform to increase awareness about the importance of understanding the required skills in the local market, the recruitment procedures, the needed talents for every Job. It helps the students and encourages them to take the right decisions in making the right decision in shifting from academic life to the real work environment.

The career awareness week is targeting all secondary schools students, parents, human resources staff, counselors, career advisors, and people working in the field of human development, job seekers. All community groups wishing to know more about our speakers have been invited to tackle several topics such as-the needs of the labor market, highlighting the work environment through videos to allow attendees to see the job tasks for each profession and the needed  capabilities and education, duties and functional for each of job.

Moreover, a guide will be distributed to help high school students to explore the world of work in depth, and the guide is designed to help prepare students for a career path with a range of professions that are currently available, and also analyzes each profession in terms of capabilities and skills, interests, personal qualities, working condition etc.

Through the career awareness week, Bedaya strives to attract experts in the fields of Education, Health, Press &Media, Engineering, Aviation, Arts, Telecom, Sports and other sectors as well. These professionals will share their expertise on several topics like, Identifying Career interests and Self-awareness, Connect interests to career pathways, how to acquire necessary qualifications and skills, how to attract key talents through interviews and tests, how to create a connection with universities, how to build the right and proper HR policies, some speaker shared as well their personal experience and several other topics.
