Bedaya Center for Entrepreneurship and Career Development (Bedaya Center), a joint initiative by Qatar Development Bank and Silatech, incollaboration with AFG College with the University of Aberdeen, has launched a new branch of its hugely successful initiative “Dukan” inside the university’s campus in Doha.

The collaboration comes within the framework of the center's continuous effort to support the youth and start-ups and help market their products and create opportunities to connect with all segments of the society, which further leads to the creation of a new generation of entrepreneurs who will form the solid foundation for building a more prosperous future for Qatar and support its vibrant economy.

The opening of “Dukan” within the university premises follows the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) between the two parties last year to support all efforts undertaken by the university to prepare its students and equip them to start their careers by utilsing Bedaya's expertise in empowering entrepreneurs to take first step in their professional life through their own business activities and projects. Since the MOU signing, Bedaya’s counselors and coaches have helped students to turn their ideas into tangible reality and give them a real insight into managing their own business on the ground.

On this occasion, Reem Al-Sowaidi, General Manager of Bedaya Center, said, “At Bedaya Center, we strive to support local entrepreneurs and the opening of new branch of “Dukan” at the University of Aberdeen in Doha will provide a perfect platform for SMEs to promote themselves and showcase their products related to the education sector. This will create more opportunities for future generations to innovate and come up with modern ideas in line with the country’s various sectors”. Brian Buckley, Principal at AFG College with the University of Aberdeen, said, “We are delighted to inaugurate today “Dukan” Bedaya within the campus of our esteemed university, through which we will provide opportunity for entrepreneurs to showcase products related to education.
