Bedaya Center for Entrepreneurship and Career Development (Bedaya Center), a joint initiative by Qatar Development Bank and Silatech, along with a number of startups, recently participated in a Bazaar organized by Georgetown University to create awareness about Breast Cancer. The bazaar was held at the university campus and witnessed the participation of local companies and institutions.

During the event, participating startups donated their sale proceeds to Qatar Cancer Society with the objective of supporting their efforts in fighting breast cancer and raising awareness in the community about this disease. Bedaya’s participation in such events comes within the framework of its social responsibility aspect and those of other participating startups. On this occasion, Reem Al-Suwaidi, General Manager of Bedaya Center said," Our participation in this initiative organized by the Georgetown University is to fight breast cancer. The spontaneous response by local startups and local business for the bazaar was to offer our support to the efforts of the state represented by the Qatar Cancer Society towards research projects and clinical trials related to the disease to serve breast cancer patients”.

“The sales generated by the startups during the event were very encouraging. We hope our small effort will support Qatar Society financially, and morally through spreading awareness about breast cancer and highlight the importance of early detection for women and taking the necessary precautions in order to maintain a healthy living”.
