If mountains of tinsel, nodding blow-up Santas and singing Christmas cards turn you on, then Bologna is not the place for you. Christmas in Bologna isn’t for show. For the city’s bakers, grocers, confectioners and chocolate makers, it’s business as usual because the Bolognesi take food seriously all year round. The people here cherish it, take great pride in it and enjoy it just as we do at Carluccio’s.

Reflected in the design of the packaging, the 2013 Christmas collection takes its inspiration from this city of warm red colours, porticos and iconic towers, but don’t forget the content. This is food to be enjoyed and savoured. Featuring gift boxes, cakes, biscuits, sweets and chocolates, each item has been chosen from artisan Italian producers for being the finest it can be; from cakes made to an age old recipe to chocolate coated figs produced by one Calabrian family over three generations.

Gift Boxes…

Lui e Lei (QR 185) – in Italy a kitchen isn’t a kitchen without olive oil and balsamic vinegar, or Lui e Lei (‘his and her’s). Carluccio’s Lui e Lei are the perfect accompaniment to all kitchens.

L’Ora di Cioccolato (QR 225) – a chocoholic’s fantasy with cocoa pappardelle, dark chocolate truffles, cocoa biscuits with pistachio and a giant milk chocolate gold coin.

Cakes & Biscuits…

Meringhe di Gianduja (QR 65, 240g) – incredibly moreish cakes from Piemonte, made with light meringue to complement the layer of gianduja on top and coated in luxurious dark chocolate.

PanettoneTradizionale (QR 125, 1kg or QR 35, 100g) – Christmas wouldn’t be the same without Carluccio’s panettone. Each one is handcrafted over a 24-hour period and made using only the finest ingredients so that it tastes just right. This traditional recipe is made with a combination of dried fruit and candied peel, topped with a hazelnut glaze.

Sweets & Chocolates…

Torrone al Cioccolato (QR 40, 150g) - hazelnut torrone coated in dark chocolate with a gianduja centre.

Ciottoli di Torrone(QR 40, 120g) - cocoa dusted balls of almond and honey torrone.  The honey is made from a special blend of five varieties including one with a slightly salty flavour from the banks of the Venetian lagoon.

And the Stocking Fillers…

Moneta di Cioccolata (QR 6, 23g) – Milk chocolate coin, the perfect currency for Christmas

La Gita(QR 35, 140g) - this year Father Christmas has swapped his reindeer for a van full of foil wrapped mini milk chocolate and gianduja-filled santas.

Christmas at Carluccio’s - the best of its kind! BuonNatale!
