The College of Education (CED) at Qatar University (QU) organized its annual orientation day to welcome the new faculty members to introduce the college’s vision, mission and its achievements. The event was attended by the Head of Departments, faculty members and staff.

During the ceremony Dr. Hessa Sadeq, the former Dean of CED was honored by recognizing her efforts in developing the College’s programs and obtaining accreditation from prestigious international institutions. In his welcoming speech, Dr. Ahmed Alemadi CED Dean said: ”We are pleased to welcome 12 new faculty members who will contribute towards improving and developing the College and I wish them a new academic year full of success and achievements. This year, we will mainly consider academic quality and preserving the identity of QU and Qatar which cannot be achieved without your assistance and hard work”.

Dr. Alemadi also emphasized the importance of maintaining the relationships between the College and different academic and educational community in Qatar as part of the College’s social endeavors to enhance the educational services provided by schools in Qatar. On a different note, CED organized an orientation session for 410 new students who started their academic journey earlier this week. The session familiarized the students with the offered undergraduate programs, students’ clubs and the services provided in CED.

 Assistant Dean for Student Affairs Dr Yassir Semmar: “The orientation session would help the students to involve in the academic community to know more about the CED and their intended majors”.
