College of the North Atlantic - Qatar (CNA-Q) toured a delegation from the World Energy Cities Partnership (WECP) through its state-of-the-art technical campus Wednesday.

As a Canadian College, CNA-Q was pleased to welcome the President of WECP, Mr. Mike Savage, who is also the Mayor of the Halifax Regional Municipality in Canada. Many of the highly qualified faculty teaching at CNA-Q are from his city. Other members of the delegation included Thomas Pommier, the Executive Director of WECP, from Houston, Texas; Nancy Phillips, VP of Trade, Investment & International Partnerships at Halifax Partnership; and Mr. Taleb Abidali, President & CEO, CRESCO Developments.

Established in 1995, WECP is a non-profit organization whose member cities are globally recognized as international energy capitals. CNA-Q was born from strong partnerships with the energy and industry sector here in Doha. Since CNA-Q first opened in 2002, the College has trained a large portion of Qatar’s energy and industry professionals, including over 90 per cent of Qatar's technicians.
