Commercial Bank, Qatar’s first private bank, has announced its gold sponsorship of the Qatar Central Bank’s fourth conference on information security for the financial sector  (ISFS), on November 5 and 6, 2017, in Doha.

The conference connects leading Qatari and international thought leaders in cybersecurity to share their experiences and to discuss the latest trends and threats, regulations, and best practices in the information security field. The conference builds on the successful three preceding annual events, with this year’s theme being “Cyberhacking and its Impact on the Economy.”

Commercial Bank Group CEO Joseph Abraham said: “Commercial Bank confirms its commitment of supporting the economy and the financial sector in Qatar, and towards the guidelines and regulations of Qatar Central Bank. We take all current and emerging cyber threats very seriously and affirm that the security of our customer and corporate information is of the utmost importance. We recognise that information security is not only a technical exercise but also a business and governance issue that involves trust, risk management, regulatory compliance, reporting and accountability. With this broader view of information security in mind, Commercial Bank is honoured to support this conference with our sponsorship as we renew our commitment to cooperating with the Qatar Central Bank and all concerned authorities to ensure the security and stability of the financial sector in Qatar.”
