Commercial Bank, Qatar’s first private bank, has given first aid training to all employees on CPR (Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation) and essential life saving skills in the case of an emergency.

The training was delivered by Hamad Medical Corporation, Hamad International Training Center to all Commercial Bank staff in 46 three-hour workshop sessions, held in Commercial Bank Plaza and Grand Hamad branch. During the workshop, staff were given a demonstration of resuscitation in the case of cardiac arrest and first aid measures covering different types of trauma such as fractures, burns, suffocation, bleeding, wounds and poisoning. Commercial Bank Executive General Managers will now nominate one of their team members who attended the workshop to join Hamad Medical Corporation, Hamad International Training Center for advanced training and become officially CPR certified.

The initiative was aimed at raising employees’ awareness about safety and health tips during emergency situations. The training will enable Commercial Bank employees to perform first aid when necessary, both in the workplace and outside, as part of the Bank’s Corporate Social Responsibility programme. Commercial Bank CEO Abdulla Saleh Al Raisi said: “Commercial Bank actively supports initiatives that contribute positively to the health
and well being of the Qatari community in line with the Qatar National Vision 2030. First aid training saves lives both inside and outside the workplace and forms essential knowledge for all good citizens.”

Commercial Bank Chief Human Capital Officer Sharoq Al Malki said: “First aid training is a valuable life skill and Commercial Bank employees are now equipped to make a difference in an emergency as a result of this educational initiative.”
