Commercialbank is pleased to announce that Mr. Alex Carre de Malberg has joined the Bank as Global Head of Investment and Merchant Banking. Alex will be in charge of developing a new platform to service the needs of both the Public and Private Sector clients of Commercialbank and its associates, in UAE and Oman. Benefiting from a strong capital base, the platform will allow Commercialbank to seek lead or co-lead roles in line with international banking practices to advice, structure, underwrite, place or invest in debt and equity instruments of its client base.

Alex brings with him over 18 years of investment banking experience from Lazard Freres in the US, Peregrine Capital in the Far East and Rothschild in Europe, before moving to the Middle East in 2006. He acted as Managing Director at Rothschild Middle East, Head of Investment Banking at the Abu Dhabi Investment Company, and Senior Adviser to The National Investor.

Alex has advised numerous public, semi public and private companies in the GCC and/or in their dialogs with GCC based parties. He has worked and successfully closed over fifty transactions, of which more than half involved emerging markets parties. Alex is a chemical engineer by training and graduated from HEC with an MBA, where he later delivered mergers and acquisitions seminars.
