Dutch company De Boer, a provider of temporary constructions for major sporting events, has signed a new three-year agreement to sponsor the Commercialbank Qatar Masters presented by Dolphin Energy until 2013.

“We are grateful to be involved with this particular event, especially in regards to our extensive experience in regards to golf tournaments worldwide” said De Boer CEO Lucas Covers.

“Additionally we are happy for the ever growing success of the event in full cooperation with Commercialbank. As Doha was our first office in the Middle East, it is a great honour to participate in this important sports event.”
To be staged at Doha Golf Club from February 3-6, the Commercialbank Qatar Masters is now in its 14th year since launching on to The European Tour International Schedule in 1998.

"De Boer has great interest in expanding activities in golf tournaments in the Gulf region, therefore this particular event is a perfect showcase for the company,”  added Covers.

“Additionally De Boer has recently signed a two-year sponsorship contract with the Dutch golfer Robert-Jan Derksen who will also be competing at the Commercialbank Qatar Masters.”

De Boer has a long history in international golf events and is a supplier of many important tournaments. De Boer’s experience over eight decades covers major international sporting events including Euro 2008, where the company set up hospitality villages and press tents across Austria and Switzerland, the Asian Games and the Winter Olympics in Vancouver.

De Boer has also built temporary schools and sales centres, exclusive aircraft terminals and participated in many sports events across the Gulf region, including the Commercialbank Qatar Masters, the Moto GP and the Sony Ericsson Tennis Tournament in Doha.

De Boer also provided temporary accommodation for the Asian Cup, created a sports facility on behalf of the Olympic Volleyball Federation and provided the Fan Zone accommodation during the FIFA World Cup 2010 in South Africa.
Established in 1924, De Boer has offices across Europe as well as Russia, the US, and Qatar.

“De Boer’s experience in this type of business is second to none and we are delighted to have them continue their relationship with the tournament,” said Andrew Stevens, GCEO of Commercialbank, organisers of the event in collaboration with the Qatar Golf Association (QGA) and the Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC).
