Doha was declared the capital of Islamic Youth for next year, 2019, in Istanbul, in recognition of the efforts exerted by the State of Qatar in supporting and empowering young Muslims. This came following the conclusion of “Jerusalem the Capital of the Islamic Youth 2018”.

HE Mr Salah bin Ghanim Al Ali, Minister of Culture and Sports, praised this step, hailing endeavors of the Qatari youth towards reaching the international arena on many occasions, as a result of the continuous work done, in line with the ministry's vision to empower the youth and enhance their role both locally and internationally. “The consensus of participants to declare Doha the Capital of the Islamic Youth 2019 shows the status of the Qatari youth locally and internationally, and the belief of the wise the wise in the role of Qatari youth in Qatar National Vision 2030.”

Al Ali stressed that this choice reflects the confidence of Islamic countries in the Qatari youth example, having taken steps towards the empowerment of youth, being the capital of the future and the fundamental of investment.
