Nama Centre for Social Development (Nama) – in co-operation with the Best Buddies Qatar initiative – has invited all citizens and residents to attend the International Youth Day celebration tomorrow at the Drama Theater at the Cultural Village Foundation-Katara.

The event is meant to highlight the various youth issues and their pivotal role in conflict and war prevention, as well as encouraging them to contribute effectively to building peace and security through their social integration, including access to adequate education, healthcare, empowerment and skill development to enable them to achieve their goals, all the way to their participation in decision-making. The event’s agenda will also address several topics through seminars, lectures and video presentations, at the forefront of which will be challenging the siege crisis and the role of Qatari youth in tackling it, in addition to discussing other issues of high importance.

Nama was established by Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser in 1996, with the aim of providing a stimulating environment that contributes to investing in the potential and creativity of youth, as well as to meet their needs and aspirations as partners in civil work, while exploring the best opportunities and innovating to lead the renaissance of their communities. Since 2013, Nama has been working under the umbrella of Qatar Foundation for Social Work. Nama is a member of the United Nations Economic and Social Council, and the Arab Network for NGOs, and the World Family Organisation.
