Fireworks, laser lights and dancing fountains on Katara's water and skyline enthralled hundreds of residents who thronged to celebrate Eid Al Fitr at the cultural complex on Thursday. People had assumed their seats in advance on the steps of the amphitheatre and esplanade of Katara to enjoy the magic of lights.

The dazzling display of lights began at 7.45pm. It was followed by a fascinating dance of water fountains accompanied by Arabian music. Later, the skyline of the water front was covered with glowing flowers made by the fireworks. The show was repeated three times at 30- minute intervals.

Roads leading to Katara were gridlocked as people scramble to reach the venue on time and have the chance to view the display. So, many people watched the show from as far as the Doha International Exhibition Center. As the fireworks were set off at two different locations, the people lined up along the coastal belt of Katara to get vintage view of the show.

Speaking to Qatar Tribune, Jessamina Mirla, a tourist from France, said: œIt is a totally different experience; a thrilling show at an amazing venue where music, light, art and architecture join together. The fireworks will continue on Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 7.30pm each day.
