Four international airlines -- Etihad Airways, Kuwait Airways, Sri Lankan Airlines and Royal Jordanian -- are expected to start operation from Hamad International Airport (HIA) from May 14. The Civil Aviation Authority has issued a directive to these airlines in this regard, Al Sharq reports. 

They would be joining the 10 budget airlines that started operation from the new airport following its soft launch on April 30. The airlines operating from HIA are Biman Bangladesh Airlines, Fly Dubai, Air Arabia, Iran Air, Air India Express, Yemenia Yemen Airlines, Pakistan International Airline, Nepal Airline, Syrian Airline and Pegasus Airline.
