The 2016 Commercial Bank Qatar Masters is back in January with an even bigger focus on family entertainment, with a range of activities organised by the Qatar Golf Association for children with United Through Golf. The European Tour tournament, which takes place at the Doha Golf Club from 27-30 January, will offer free golf coaching amongst other activities for children of all ages in the event’s Family Zone as well as trick shot shows and a range of entertainment in the Public Village.

Qatar Golf Association and United Through Golf, the community development initiative at the Qatar Golf Academy, will have coaches on hand at various times throughout the week at the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters. International certified coaches will be there to offer golf coaching tips in a bid to encourage children to try out and enjoy the sport. The Qatar Golf Academy boasts a team of highly qualified PGA professionals - Pete Cowen and Mike Walker, who coach the likes of Henrik Stenson and Lee Westwood – who will be available during the tournament to put children through their paces.

“Golf is a great sport for children of all ages both socially and physically,” said Andy McCormick, Director of Qatar Golf Academy. “The sport focuses on individual skills, yet is played in a very social platform that teaches children to respect one another. We continuously encourage children to come down to the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters to have fun, try out the sport and have a great time with their family and friends.”

United Through Golf aims to provide children with an interactive platform to learn more about golf in a fun and social environment. The Family Zone will give children of all ages the opportunity to try out a range of sports including mini and soft golf with their friends and family. Tickets are available to buy now at Virgin Megastores (Online and in-store in Doha), Ticket Master, Time Out Tickets, Q Tickets, Doha Golf Club and more (full list below).
