The first Green Building Solutions Conference & Exhibition 2011, to be held in Doha from March 2 to 4, will be the Middle East’s largest event related to sustainable development in the construction industry, organisers said yesterday.

Green Building Solutions 2011 is organised by the Barwa and Qatari Diar Research Institute (BQDRI) in partnership with Qatar Expo Event Management and Grey Doha, and enjoys the support of The Supreme Council for the Environment and Qatar’s leading real estate development companies, Barwa and Qatari Diar.

The Green Building Solutions 2011 Conference features interactive debate as 500 top-level local and international construction and environment experts present an inspiring series of workshops, presentations and speeches, including a workshop introducing delegates to the Qatar Sustainability Assessment System (QSAS).

Dr Youssef Al Horr, Chairman and Managing Director of the Barwa and Qatari Diar Research Institute (BQDRI) will be the keynote speaker at the event. He said: “Green Building Solutions 2011 is a major sustainable development event and very different from similar events in the region.”
