Qatar Museums has confirmed that “Harem al Sultan: the Exhibition”, an exhibition that showcases original décor, costumes and accessories used during the show has been extended due to popular demand. Harem Al Sultan, first telecast in 2011, quickly became a phenomenon after the first season. From Italy to China, airing in more than 54 countries, the show has reached more than 200mn viewers worldwide.

An adaptation of the historical fiction, Harem Al Sultan: The Exhibition reveals a unique experience of life in the Palace. The multimedia exhibition, which displays hyper- realistic statues of Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent, Ibrahim Pasha of Parga, Hürrem Sultan, Mahidevran Sultan, and Bali Bey allows guests to get an up close and personal look at the artistry and craftsmanship that went into creating the iconic props and costumes that appeared throughout the famous series illustrating the life and times of Suleiman the Magnificent.

Set in the sixteen century, the TV Show Magnificent Century, known in the Gulf as Harem Al Sultan, is based on the life of Ottoman Sultan Süleyman the Magnificent, the longest reigning Sultan of the Ottoman Empire, and his wife Hürrem Sultan, a slave girl who became Sultana. The exhibition offers an immersive new perspective on the show's most memorable characters and lavish interiors. This special section of the “Magnificent Century –Exhibition of Magnificence” provides the perfect opportunity for fans to experience the exquisite costumes and more than 300 accessories from the show in the grand setting of the Private Chamber of Sultan Suleiman, the Imperial Harem and Janissaries reception decors.

A gift shop is open alongside the exhibition selling jewellery, costumes and other interesting Turkish Ottoman arts and crafts inspired by the series, Guests can leave with a piece of the show adding to the atmospheric nature of the exhibition and the all-round experience.

"Harem Al Sultan: The Exhibition" made its world premiere in Istanbul in November 2014 and has come to Doha for the first time as part of Qatar Turkey 2015 Year of Culture, with the support of Doğuş Group. Qatar Turkey 2015 Year of Culture is held under the patronage of Qatar Museums’ (QM) Chairperson, Her Excellency Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, in partnership with Qatar’s Ministry of Culture, Arts and Heritage and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Turkey.

The Qatar Turkey 2015 Year of Culture is dedicated to connecting people in Qatar and Turkey through exploring the contemporary and traditional cultures of both countries. This exhibition is showcasing the unique aspect of Turkish Ottoman history, which included Qatar, and will allow people in both countries to learn more about each other and discover new aspects of art and culture. ExxonMobil is the Platinum Sponsor of the Year of Culture, while Qatar Airways is the Official Airline and W Doha Hotel & Residences the Hospitality Sponsor.
