HEC Paris, one of the world’s leading providers of Executive Education, is offering its latest Executive Short Program ‘Demystifying Finance: Finance for Non-Financial Managers’ this month. The program focuses on enabling participants to read, understand and interpret a company’s key financial indicators, allowing them to make better decisions in the future.

The two-day program will take place at the HEC Paris Doha campus in  Tornado Tower on October 24-25 and will be directed by HEC Paris Affiliate Professor Patrick Legland (pictured), who has accumulated over 25 years’ financial sector experience.

‘Demystifying Finance: Finance for Non-Financial Managers’ has been carefully designed to give non-financial professionals an in-depth understanding of figures, key financial indicators and the ability to develop reporting documents. “Successful leaders must be able to comprehend and analyze historical and projected figures for decision-making purposes and to hedge against potential risks”, explained Professor Legland. “The program will cover the fundamental aspects of accounting and finance in a user-friendly and intuitive manner to provide participants with an easy-to-learn and practical financial toolbox”.

He added: “Attendees will leave with a fresh approach towards accounting and finance as well as an enhanced financial vocabulary and self-confidence when discussing subjects as varied as company financing, value creation or management dashboards.” During the two days, the program will initially cover the basic foundations and build up progressively to tackle more advanced concepts using real case studies and numbers. Topics will include the key principles and conceptual frameworks to analyze financial accounts ahead of management meetings; creation of value and efficiency; among others.

The ‘Demystifying Finance: Finance for Non-Financial Managers’ program is taught in a workshop format to encourage interaction between participants and create a relaxed environment that promotes learning.
