To honor its social responsibility, Hospitality Development Company (HDC), which manages and operates a number of restaurants on The Pearl-Qatar, is introducing “Charity Fridays” where 1 QR from each bill at all HDC outlets on Fridays only, will be donated to Qatar Charity on a monthly basis.

Those wishing to contribute to this goodwill initiative, have the choice to dine at HDC’s varied restaurant concepts including Pampano which offers casual Mexican cuisine, Tse Yang, the award-winning Chinese posh restaurant, Megu where contemporary Japanese food is served, Chocolate Bar, the famous café-restaurant concept from New York. For Lebanese food lovers, Burj Al-Hamam and Al-Tabkha are also on the list of donating eateries.

"People often think about giving to a charity but never seem to get around to it, so to have a promotion that really benefits more than just the restaurant and the guests is a really rewarding feeling", said Ms. Jawaher Al Fathaly, HDC Marketing Manager.

Al Fathaly added: "It is an innovative, easy fundraising scheme which works beyond Ramadan, when people are mostly inclined to think about those less fortunate than themselves. Although HDC has an established charity scheme for the Holy Month, it is also seeking to benefit from busy Fridays at its outlets at The Pearl-Qatar, to add value to Qatar Charity’s noble causes upheld throughout the year. We highly appreciate the humanitarian role Qatar Charity is playing in Qatar, and HDC will continue to support these kinds of endeavors."

It is worth noting that United Development Company (UDC), of which HDC is a wholly-owned subsidiary, is a devout partner of Qatar Charity and has continuously undertaken considerable efforts towards supporting the community through in-kind donations and clothing bins established at UDC’s flagship development, The Pearl-Qatar. This is in addition to other direct donations, fundraisers and most recently Al-Baraha tent in Ramadan which had a predominant charitable dimension to it.

Hospitality Development Company (HDC) focuses on acquiring, developing and operating world-class hospitality projects and brands including hotels, high-end restaurants and cafes. The Company’s strategy revolves around UDC’s vision of creating and managing a diverse portfolio of hospitality related businesses in Qatar and the Middle East as one of the most promising areas in the hospitality and leisure sectors. Many of HDC’s brands are entering the Middle East market for the first time at The Pearl-Qatar. They include internationally celebrated and recognized names in the food and hospitality field.
